We also created a clifftop deck in bamboo with relaxed seating amongst the pine trees and installed some statement pendant lights, making it the perfect place for our clients to enjoy in the evening.
This restored finca sits high above the sea with spectacular views across the Mediterranean with its exposed location bringing a wonderful warm breeze across the landscape. A garden for easy living was called for with spaces that showcased its position and plants that danced in the wind.
The garden at the rear of the property is a mix of paved for the poolside area and sand in the dining space and areas containing the main planting beds. Our clients wanted a low-maintenance garden to enjoy during their summers in residence, foregoing grassed lawns and instead electing for a large, fully-equipped outdoor kitchen, shower, poolside and several seating areas in which to relax around the property.
With clients that enjoy cooking, a full outdoor kitchen was an important part of the landscape design and in terms of style, we wanted the kitchen to compliment the traditional style of the finca. Considering how and how much a kitchen will be used is very important in terms of the final design and it’s inconvenient if repeated trips to the main interior kitchen are needed to retrieve items, so we designed and installed the appliances and storage for every eventuality.
A pizza oven modelled in the style of a traditional Ibizan bread oven, grill plate, wine fridge, dishwasher, plus plenty of drawers and cupboards mean this kitchen is ready to go for relaxed summer dining in the company of friends and guests.
Can Almendro’s planting was designed to reflect and be in harmony with the location of the property and the rugged north coast breeze required plants that worked with the landscape rather than resisted it.
White Lindheimer’s gaura with its small flowers atop delicate stems, purple verbena and the silvery, honey-toned rods of melica ciliata, common name hairy melic or silky spike melic brought movement and a sense of ease to the garden.
We also created a clifftop deck in bamboo with relaxed seating amongst the pine trees and installed some statement pendant lights, making it the perfect place for our clients to enjoy in the evening.
A stylish reading nook outside the home’s back door underneath a swag of pink bougainvillea provides a sheltered space in which to enjoy a morning coffee or good book.
